Real Coded Mixed Integer Genetic Algorithm for Geometry Optimization of Flight Simulator Mechanism Based on Rotary Stewart Platform

Designing the motion platform for flight simulator is closely coupled with particular aircraft’s envelope. While in training, pilot on has to experience same feeling as aircraft. That means that simulators need simulate all cases and forces acting upon during flight. Among many existing mechanisms, parallel mechanisms based Stewart are suitable because they have six degrees of freedom. In this paper, a real coded mixed integer genetic algorithm (RCMIGA) applied geometry optimization rotary actuators (6-RUS) design mechanism appropriate physical limitations workspace performances. The chosen proved it can find best global solution imposed constraints. At time, obtained be manufactured solutions mapped available discrete values. Geometry defined minimum number parameters fully define These geometric then optimized obtain custom-tailored aircraft simulation.
